View Video Tribute Nancy Gail Williams Hooks, 71, retired employee of Publix Shirt Factory and former long-time resident of Figures Avenue, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at her residence in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Peery officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born January 22, 1947 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Williams and the late Mary Ruth Cannady Williams. In 1976, she married Jay Hooks, Jr., who preceded her in death February 5, 1992. Mrs. Williams a 1965 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Survivors include her daughters, Tracy (Gerald) Mims of Hampshire; Amy Hooks of Summertown; grandchildren, Will (Sylvia) Mims; Emily Mims; Jaylynn Howard; sisters, Linda Morton of Hampshire; Kathy (Jack) Price of Columbia; and brothers, Al (Babs) Williams of Columbia; and Jeff Williams of Columbia. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rickey Dean Williams. Active pallbearers will be Will Mims, Kenny Brady, Bobby Joe Haywood, Jack Price, Al Williams, and Jeff Williams.
