Mrs. Nancy Louise Wilson Mitchell, 52, former licensed practical nurse at Maury Regional Hospital and resident of Culleoka Highway, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Crisp and Rev. Clark Albright officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Lawrenceburg native was the daughter of the late William S. Wilson and Dorothy Dunkin Wilson. She was a 1973 graduate of Central High School and earned her nursing degree at Columbia State Community College. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose hobbies included watching The Food Network and bird watching. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Central Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, James Nelson Mitchell of Culleoka; one daughter, Cara Brittany (Chad) Braden of Pulaski; three sons, William Duane (fiancée, Mimy) Dungy of Murfreesboro, Charles Matthew Dungy of Nashville, Phillip Wilson Dungy of Culleoka; five step-children, Amy Taylor, Christina Mitchell both of Alabama, Heath Mitchell of Columbia, Shannon (Laura) Mitchell of Culleoka, Sgt. Jason (Roxanne) Mitchell of Ft. Riley, Kansas; two sisters, Virginia Lee Jones of Birmingham, AL, Sherry Joann (Johnny) Walker of Mobile, AL; two brothers, William "Bill" (Glenda) Wilson of Culleoka, Thomas Lindsey (Dot) Wilson of Mooresville; two grandchildren, Halle Braden and Gracie Braden both of Pulaski; 5 step-grandchildren, Chase Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Jason Tyler Mitchell, Roselynn Mitchell and Presley Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Woody. Pallbearers will be Duane Dungy, Charlie Dungy, Phillip Dungy, Chad Braden, Heath Mitchell and Shannon Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Sgt. Jason Mitchell and the Vasek family.
