View Funeral WebcastMrs. Nancy Ann Buchanan Potts, 74, resident of Williamsport Pike, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Lunn and Rev. David McGregor officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Maury County Chapter, P.O. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Douglas Buchanan and Marguerite Bowker Buchanan. She was a 1952 graduate of Central High School. Mrs. Potts was a retired laboratory technician at Maury Regional Hospital and was active in the Maury Regional Breast Cancer Support Group. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jackie Elton Potts of Columbia; daughter, Betsy (Lee) Estabrooks of Tullahoma; granddaughter, Stacey (Wayne) Carter of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandson, Ryan Estabrooks of Knoxville; sister, Peggy (Dr. Joe) Herrington of Church Hill, Mississippi; and special friend, Betty Rash of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Ryan Estabrooks, Wayne Carter, Jeff Potts, Timothy Baker, Michael Baker, Jason Potts and Brad Potts. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Duck River Woodturners Association, Jeff Lancaster, Allen Lancaster and Dale Baker. Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Simmons, Dr. John Worthman, Dr. Houston Jameson, III, Dr. Mark Messenger and Dr. Steven Woodley.
