Nellie Jane Hurt Bennett

Nellie Jane Hurt Bennett, 67, switchboard operator at Maury Regional Hospital, retiree from Bell South and resident of Fleming Street, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. A Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was a 1956 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include two brothers, Jimmy Hurt of Antioch and Walter Hurt of Columbia; a nephew, Al (Rachel) Hurt of Mt. Pleasant; great-nieces, Phoebe Hurt and Maggie Hurt of Mt. Pleasant.
