View Funeral WebcastNellie Ruth "Nell" Pratt Blackburn, 82, retired clerk for Parks-Belk Company, former employee of Dixie Manufacturing Company, and resident of Campbellsville Pike, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Clay Gentry and Johnny Felker officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Roy Pratt and Amna Zula Sneed Pratt and a member of Lanton Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Harold "Jim" Blackburn of Columbia; a daughter, Linda (Tommy) Carpenter of Columbia; a son, Tony (Debbie) Blackburn of Columbia; grandchildren, Jason Carpenter and Tiffany (Alan) Martin; great-grandchild, Lukas Martin; sister, Peggy (Billy) Walters of Columbia; brother, Dean (Clara) Pratt of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Jason Carpenter, Alan Martin, Alan Faulkner, Gregg Walters, Jimmy Pratt, Eddie Pratt, Kenneth Mullinax, and Dennis Turner. Honorary pallbearers include men of Lanton Church of Christ, Columbia Fire Department, and "rabbit-chasers" at Stoneybrook Golf Club.
