Mrs. Nellie Haywood Goad, 103, former resident of Haywood Hollow Road, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Harvel Stockard officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Walter Evans Haywood and Rosetta Watson Haywood. She was married to Elmer Whitthorne Goad who preceded her in death July 15, 1970. She was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Ray (Wilma) Goad of Smyrna; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Kerr of Mesa, Arizona; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
