Mrs. Nettie Lindsey Holland, 77, co-owner of Holland's Pharmacies and resident of Columbia for the past five years, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. Holland was a native of Borger, Texas and also lived in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for several years. She was the daughter of the late Robert R. Lindsey and Jacqueline Posey Lindsey. She was an interior decorator for many years and after her marriage to Floyd Howard Holland on April 27, 1962, she was a devoted wife and loving mother. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, University of Texas at Austin, and was a graduate of New York School of Interior Design. She and her husband were co-founders and co-owners of Holland's Pharmacies in Columbia, Spring Hill, and Lawrenceburg. Nettie made friends easily and always had a kind and uplifting word for all she met. She loved others and put their needs before her own. She was a member of the Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Catherine Anne Holland of Columbia; one son, Howard Holland of Borger, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy W. & Lynda Lindsey of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Jo Carol Lindsey Gassaway of Canyon, Texas; brother-in-law, William A. Stephenson of Abilene, Texas; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Robert T. Lindsey and sister, Joy Lindsey Stephenson. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
