Mr. Newt Quirk, 82, resident of Boyette Avenue in Lewisburg, died Sunday, July 5, 2009 at NHC Healthcare in Lewisburg. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Jeremy Butt officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Morgan Quirk and Annie Bell Thomason Quirk Osborne. He was employed by Goodwill in Nashville for 25 years. Mr. Quirk loved gardening. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a sister, Willie Pearl Quirk Crigger of Columbia; several nieces and nephews including Arthur and Donna Crigger of Lewisburg with whom he lived for 17 years, Evone Wells of Mt. Pleasant, Vicky Hethcote of Columbia; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Francis Quirk and three sisters, Mary Jane Quirk, Annie Ruth Quirk and Lorene Waldrop. Pallbearers will be family and friends including Frank Springer, Brian Crigger and Frank Sealey.
