Mrs. Nina Lee Sims Lancaster, 80, retired quality control supervisor for Red Kapp Industries and resident of Lobelville, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Ray Newell officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lobelville First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P. O. The Perry County native was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Sims and Minnie Jones Stegall Sims. She was a long-time member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church in Columbia and attended Lobelville First United Methodist Church in recent years. She was married April 19, 1943 to Billy Hunter "McGee" Lancaster who preceded her in death September 15, 1996. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sissy and Bobby Hemphill of Columbia; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Donna Lancaster of Anaheim, California; sister, Ethel Howell of Scottsboro, Alabama; brother-in-law, Ocial Sharpton of Columbia; brother, Oscar "Shorty" Sims of Florence, Alabama; sister-in-law, Anna Mai Sims of Lobelville; best friends and care-givers, Charlotte McDaniel and Karen Arnold; grandchildren, Jenny Lancaster, Amanda Lancaster and Geoff Lancaster; other beloved family members, Tommy and Jacque Hemphill and Lindsey "Sweetie Pie" Hemphill. She was preceded in death by brothers, Vernon Sims, Rufus Sims, Belton Sims, Walter Sims; sisters, Inez Sharpton, Hazel Walker Bradley, and Lillian Johnson. Active pallbearers are Mike Sharpton, Ocial Sharpton, Tommy Hemphill, Wayne Sims, Bobby Sims, Ronnie Sims, David Howell, Barry Arnold and Jamie Arnold. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby McDaniel, Richard McAdams, and Danny McAdams.
