Mr. John Nolan Pinkleton, 72, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at his residence on Crestland Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Maury Hills Church of Christ with Russ Adcox and Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Friday from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the church. The Maury County native was the son of the late Floyd Pinkleton and Rosa Belle Lovell Pinkleton. He was a graduate of Maury County Schools and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Pinkleton was a retired food broker and former manager of W.T. Grant in Birmingham. He was a member of Maury Hills Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Caruthers Pinkleton of Columbia; daughter, Vanessa Pinkleton Mayberry of Hampshire; son, Rodney (Cheryl) Pinkleton of Hampshire; daughter-in-law, Leslie Pinkleton of Connecticut; 8 grandchildren, Tanessa (Ross) Morton, Dayna (Matt) Tummins, Christopher Mayberry, Dyana Pinkleton, Denise Pinkleton, Dustin Pinkleton, Alicia Pinkleton, Rebecca Pinkleton; 4 great-grandchildren, Kendell Morton, Peyton Morton, Greyson Morton, Cadance Tummins; a brother, Floyd Pinkleton, Jr.; 2 sisters, Emelene (Austin) Brewer, Mrs. Nolan (Malene) Chumley, both of Columbia; and special friends, John and Teena Morgan and Effie Lovett.Mr. Pinkleton was preceeded in death by a son, Terry Nolan Pinkleton. Pallbearers will be Stan Pinkleton, Randy Brewer, Ray Brewer, Arnold Grissom, Floyd Horne, Edgar Chumley, Edwin Chumley and Christopher Mayberry.
