Norma Sue Luttrell Bates, 78, retired administrative secretary for Tennessee Department of Human Services, died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bradley Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Maury County Animal Shelter, 1233 Mapleash Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401. On August 7, 1977 she married William Garnell Bates who preceded her in death May 3, 2011. She was a 1957 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mrs. Bates loved camping with her family, her dogs, and arts and crafts. She was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Keith Allen (Christy) Logue of Primm Springs; daughters, Katherine Faye (Doug) Prince of Louisville, Tennessee and Lisa Gail Gowan of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister, Carolyn Faye (Bud) Park of Hendersonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, William Prince of Louisville, Tennessee, Meagan Prince of Louisville, Tennessee, Allen Prince of Louisville, Tennessee, C.J. Logue of Thompson's Station, Shawn Logue of Hohenwald, Tanner Logue of Hohenwald, Emily Logue of Hohenwald, Lillie Logue of Thompson's Station, Christopher Scales of Thompson's Station, Tony Scales of Thompson's Station, Marcus Scales of Thompson's Station, Ryan Fisher of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ashlyn Fisher of Charlotte, North Carolina, Job Dellinger of Charlotte, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Remington Gage Logue of Hohenwald, India Melton of Columbia, Isaiah Melton of Columbia; one niece; and two nephews.
