Mrs. Norma Jean Mullins Norman, 81, resident of Life Care of Columbia for several years and former resident of Dalton Avenue, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at Maury Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Brother Ricky Clay officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Murray T. Mullins and Louise Allen Mullins and attended Hampshire High School.She was retired from Weather Tamer and was custodian for Highland Church of Christ for several years. Mrs. Norman was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. She was married January, 1947 to Billy James Norman who preceded her in death July 7, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jean Crafton and a brother, Randall Mullins. Survivors include daughters, Ramona Farris and Sally Ivey of Columbia; grandchildren, Jimmy Farris, Sam Ivey, Melissa (Richard) Hopkins, Lori (Jack) Helle, William Ivey, Molly Ivey, and Dennis Crafton; great-grandchildren, Jacob Reynolds, Jackson Helle, Josef Helle, Samantha Hopkins, and Mary Catharyn Hopkins; sister, Linda Farris of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Jack (Dot) Mullins of Columbia, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Jimmy Farris, Sam Ivey, William Ivey, Richard Hopkins, Marvin Cox, and Gary Howell. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Angela Joynes, South Hall nurses and staff at Life Care of Columbia and members of the Ladies Bible Class of Eastside Church of Christ.
