Mrs. Ocie Lee Peeler Johns Mrs. Ocie Lee Peeler Johns, 80, retired secretary-treasurer for Johns & Lynn, Inc. and resident of the Cross Bridges Community, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Crosby officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Osa Simon Peeler and Nora Lee Howell Peeler. She was married to Mahlon Johns who preceded her in death on January 28, 1997. Mrs. Johns was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in the Cross Bridges Community, where she had formerly served as church clerk. Survivors include three daughters, Flora (Nathan) McKennon of Cross Bridges, Nora (Bobby) Cecil of Columbia, Brenda (Steve) Menees of Huntsville, Alabama; twin sister, Mrs. Willie Johnson of Franklin; six grandchildren, Lori (Mike) Cook, Connie (Kent) Simmons, Michael McKennon, Brad (Chandra) Cecil, Timothy Menees, Tyler Menees; and four great grandchildren, Shelby Cook, Jackson Cook, Blake Simmons and McKenzie Simmons. Pallbearers will be Brad Cecil, Michael McKennon, Steve Menees, Mike Cook, Kent Simmons, Henry Menees, Kenny Cecil and J. C. Williams.
