Odie Douglas Morrow, 71, resident of Summertown, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at VA Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Dwain Brown and Murray Culberson officiating. Burial will be in Morrow Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 23, 1933, the Maury County native was the son of the late John Luch Morrow and Doshia Anderson Morrow. He was a retired route salesman for wholesale grocery and retired truck driver. An avid genealogist, Mr. Morrow was Past Vice President and board member of the Spring Hill Genealogy Society and a member of the Maury County and Giles County Genealogy Societies. He served in the U. S. Navy from February 1952 thru February 1956. He attended Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edith Frances Hartsfield Morrow of Summertown; two daughters, Karen and Donna; three stepsons, Robert Hartsfield, Johnny Hartsfield, Joe Hartsfield; three brothers, Harold (Helen) Morrow of Madison; Charles (Vonnell) Morrow of Parsons; David (Elaine) Morrow of Hendersonville; four sisters, Louella (Harold) Bursell of Yuma, Arizona; Charlotte Lee of Gallatin; Patricia (Bobby) Burgess and Mary (Billy) Whited, both of Hendersonville; five grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur & Jewell Wentzel; Hilliard & Clara Jett, Edith Helton, Sarah Spears, Shirley Sharp, Rose Carter, Arnette Shelton, Joe Tomlin, and Bobby Gobble.
