View Funeral WebcastOkalene Stockard Mash, 77, private sitter, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at her residence on Hicks Lane. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Buck Paul officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Harris Stockard and Margaret Eddlemon Stockard. She was a member of Blue Springs Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Carolyn (Wayne) McCord of Culleoka and Diane (Bobby) Chumley of Columbia; sons, Michael (Debbie) Mash of Covington, Georgia, Terry (Diana) Mash of Mt. Pleasant, and Jeffery Mash of Columbia; sister, Margaret (Vernon) Blocker of Harrogate; brothers, Robert (Wanda) Stockard of Columbia, Harris (Pam) Stockard of Washington, and Joe Stockard of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Obie Dial Mash September 6, 1979, son, Tommy Mash; sisters, Alice Sanders, Ruby Baker, and Sadie Black, and brother, James Earl Stockard. Active pallbearers are Ben Putnam, Josh Wilson, Dale McCord, Daniel Chumley, R. L. King, Cody Mash, and Obie Mash. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Thomas Dake and staff and staff of NHC Home Health.
