Ola Mae Carroll Vick

March 24, 1925 — January 29, 2007

Mrs. Ola Mae Carroll Vick, 81, resident of Rosewood Manor and former resident of Blythe Circle, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy, Wendell Jump and Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim, 1412 Trotwood Ave., Suite 5, Columbia, TN, 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Lewis County native was the daughter of the late Warren Smith Carroll and Lacy Belle Stokes Carroll. On December 16, 1942 she married Ernest C. Vick who preceded her in death January 7, 2000. Mrs. Vick was employed at Weather Tamer as a seamstress for sixteen years. As a homemaker she loved crocheting, sewing, cooking and working jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Perry (Barbie) Vick, Sr. and Jerry (Debbie) Vick both of Spring Hill, Steve (Cheryl) Vick and Bobby Vick both of Columbia; three daughters, Carolyn (Joe) Fults of Lewisburg, Beverly (Don) Norman of Columbia, Kathy (Mike) McKennon of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Glenn (Betty) Carroll of Hohenwald; three sisters, Nell Cothran of Mt. Pleasant, Helen Harden and Joyce (James) Hudson both of Hohenwald; five sisters-in-law, Imogene Tatum of Pulaski, Estelle Vick, Rachel Vick, Lucille Vick all of Columbia, Brownie Carroll of White House; brother-in-law, George (Elizabeth) Vick of Murray, KY; thirteen grandchildren, Tim (Paula) Barker, Rhonda (Jack) Murphy, Jimmy Perry (Shelia) Vick, Jr., Gerald (Brenda) Vick; Melody (David) Huckaby, Jennifer Titus, Crystal Wilson, Holly (James) Cole, Kayla Vick, Stacey Crowell, Lacey (Blair) Keeling, Mandy (Rob) Eldridge, Heather Hardiman; thirteen great-grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace Carroll, Marion Carroll, Cecil Carroll and three sisters, Marie Kenning, Ella Scott and Clista Bennett. Pallbearers will be Tim Barker, Perry Vick, Gerald Vick, James Cole, Blair Keeling, and David Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be special sons-in-law, Joe Fults, Don Norman, Mike McKennon; special caregiver and friend, Virgie Ervin; staff and patients at Rosewood Manor; and elders and deacons of Highland Church of Christ.
