OLEN SUTHERLAND Mr. Olen Lewis Sutherland, 79, retired employee of Union Carbide Corporation and longtime resident of Snow Creek Road in the Santa Fe Community, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at NHC of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Ollie Sutherland and Lou Anna Warf Sutherland. He was married to Oma Newell Bradford Sutherland who preceded him in death on October 29, 1998. He was a member of the Santa Fe United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Nancy) Salrin of Columbia; Janet Sutherland Bryant of Clarksville ; one son, Steve Sutherland of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Mrs. Delbert (Eunice) Kinzer of Franklin; Mrs. Rulen (Ollie Mae) Griggs of Columbia; Mrs. Norman (Rachael) Brown of Dickson; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brent Salrin, Mark Salrin, Junior Purcell, Phil Sutherland, Kevin Huffman, Jeremy Tisdale, and Lester Kinzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Andrews, Dr. Douglas Kennedy, retired employees of Union Carbide Corporation and the staff of NHC of Columbia.
