Mrs. Olive Irene Fox McAlister, 91, retired medical secretary and resident of Arthur Court, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan and Kirk Brothers officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview Memorial Cemetery in Fayetteville. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4- 8 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. On October 17, 1932 she married Leonard Oval McAlister who preceded her in death May 18, 1994. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Neil) Barnes of Columbia; two sons, Leonard Wayne (Pat) McAlister of Newark, Ohio and Thomas Allen (Janet) McAlister of Huntsville, Alabama; one brother Wilford Fox, Jr. of Huddleston, Virginia; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Lennie McAlister, Chris Barnes, Michael McAlister, Tom McAlister, Wayne McAlister and Neil Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Rogers, Milton Perry, Glenn Kinnard, Bruce Tuttle, Jim Thomas, Tom Duncan, Professional Women's Sunday School Class at Graymere Church of Christ; elders and ministers of Graymere Church of Christ and employees of NHC Hillview.
