Opal Montgomery

MRS. LEONARD M. MONTGOMERY Mrs. Opal Lee Hickman Montgomery, 72, former resident of Jewell Drive and employee of the business office at Maury Regional Hospital for twenty years, died Saturday, December 14, 2002 at NHC of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Eugene Barrett and Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Hubert Hickman and Lula Tice Hickman. She attended Columbia Central High School and was a life-time member of the Bigbyville United Methodist Church. She was married in October, 1947 to Leonard Morgan Montgomery, who preceded her in death October 18, 1990. Survivors include a son, Gary (Linda) Montgomery of Columbia; a sister, Evelyn Armstrong of Columbia; a brother, Athel (Evelyn) Hickman of Columbia; two grandchildren, Jill (Tim) Stelmach of Nashville and Leslie Montgomery of Columbia. Pallbearers are Harold Johnson, Matthews Abernathy, Cody Ingram, Eddie Hickman, Randell Dooley, Harold Dooley, Richard Montgomery and Dean Erwin.
