Mrs. Ophelia Cook Sutton Bell, 83, former resident of Trotwood Ave., died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Alterra Sterling House of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. J.C. Christian, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant First Baptist Church, 201 Bond St., Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee 38474. She was first married to Frank Sutton who preceded her in death in 1962 and later married James Edward Bell who preceded her in death in 1995. She was a former member of Mt. Pleasant Professional Business Women. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant First Baptist Church and formerly attended Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Sutton (Glenn) Wilmer of Huntsville, Alabama, Tina Sutton Finney of Covington, Louisiana; three step-daughters, Carolyn (Roy) Horton of Knoxville, Judy (David) Brown of Columbia, Janice Bell of Las Vegas, Nevada; one step-son, Eddie Bell of Columbia; one sister, Helen McClain of Mt. Pleasant; ten grandchildren, Amy W. Giannola of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Kimberly J. Wilmer of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brian W. Wilmer, of Birmingham, Alabama, Michael G. (Buster) Finney and Bonnie Finney both of Covington, Louisiana, Karen B. Nikazy, of Spring Hill, Stephen Brown of Brentwood, Cathy B. Hanes of Columbia, Lindon Baker and Carol B. Scott both of Santa Fe; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Wilmer, Isabella Hope Nikazy, Jake Sproul, Ethan Hanes and Eli Hanes; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Sutton, one step-daughter, Donna B. Baker, three sisters, Margaret C. Gordon, Vivian C. Gibson, Cornelia C. Scott and two brothers, James T. Cook and Ben F. Cook, Jr. Pallbearers will be Brian Wilmer, James Bradburn, Neal England, David Brown, Stephen Brown and Ephraim McClain.
