MR PAT ADAMS Mr. Pat Adams, 71, retired from Union Carbide Corporation and a resident of Wedgwood Drive, died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin Post #19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late W. T. Adams and Virgie Mae Pittman Adams Stevens. He was a member of the Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Columbia Masonic Lodge and Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19, having served in the Korean War. His first wife, Frankie Pierce Adams, died in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Woody Adams, whom he married September 15, 1984; a daughter, Patricia Lynn (Darrell) Walker of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a son, Pat Dwayne (Sheryl) Adams of Asheboro, North Carolina; step-mother, Brownie Mangrum Adams of Columbia; three step-daughters, Vicki (Michael) Dodson of Santa Fe, Vonda Humphrey of Santa Fe, Sandy D. (Jeff) McLain of Columbia; a brother, Earl Adams of Nashville; six sisters,Clara Norman of Columbia, Bertha Barber of Hohenwald, Betty Grigsby of Mississippi, Barbara Hooper of Culleoka, Patsy Walker of Dyersburg, Virgie Denton of Columbia; a half-sister, Laura Boyd of Spring Hill; a half-brother, Dale Adams of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Wesley Walker, Josh Adams, Austin Adams, Bobbi Dodson, Mikayla Dodson, Ashley Dodson, Spencer Humphrey, Sawyer Humphrey; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Adams. Active pallbearers are Allen Elias, Ernest Tucker, Deuel Spencer, James Woody, Byron White, Mark Dye, James Toungette. Honorary pallbearers include retirees from Union Carbide Corporation, elders and deacons of the Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Hardee's Coffee Club.
