Patricia Anderson

Patricia Anderson, 75, resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at her residence. 

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, family and friends are welcome. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. 

Pat, as her friends knew her, was born on August 6, 1948 in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Augustus Edwin Anderson Sr. and the late Katherine Hurst Anderson. She attended Peabody Demonstration School. Pat was a life member of West End Methodist Church, where she previously worked in the Church Day Care. Later she worked at Davis Kidd Book Store, where she made many friends, and loved working there. After her parents past she moved to Columbia to be near to her sister Kate. She loved being a part of a large family. Pat enjoyed playing games on her phone and working large puzzles. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, she knew all the players and rarely missed a game on T.V. 

 She is survived by her brother, Edwin (Cay) Anderson Jr. of Tulsa, Ok; sister, Kate Couch of Columbia, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. 

The family wishes to express a special thanks to all of the wonderful and caring nurses and therapists at NHC, and to Caris, who provided everything needed to grant her wish to be at home. Also a special thanks to her nephew, Dr. Cummins Couch, who checked on her at least once every day, and to a wonderful family and friends who prayed for us, It meant so much.
