Patricia Darlene Dial Derryberry, born April 30, 1956 went to see Jesus on her birthday surrounded by her family at her home after an extended illness. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, David "Butch" Derryberry; daughter, Samantha (Ray) Jung; granddaughter, Rachael Catherine Jung; brother, William (Ellen) Dial; sisters, Myra (Rick) Young, Virginia (Jerry) Nichols, and Katie Dial; brother-in-law, Donald Wilkins; step-daughters, Vicki (Mitchell) Kammermier, and Kim (Donnie) Fitzgerald; step-grandchildren, Brandon Fitzgerald, Matt Fitzgerald, Dacon Fitzgerald, and Kyrie Fitzgerald; twenty-nine nieces; nine nephews; and several great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys Gray Dial and Wallace Dial; sisters, Betty Nelson, Joy Wilkins, and Polly Nichols; and brother, Bobby Dial.She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Franny), and Christian. A native of Columbia, she was 1972 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She loved her family, friends, and church family of Parkway Baptist Church. She enjoyed many things in life, but her best were traveling and taking cruises with her sister and best friend Katie. Mrs. Derrryberry and her granddaughter, Rachael, love spending time together and making memories. She loved going to the beach and being out in the sun. She never met a stranger. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Hospice Compasses and nurses, Jamie, Betty, Contessa, and Rita. Also a special thanks to Donald "Pops" Wilkins, Bethany Spruiell, and Katie Dial. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Parkway Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
