Patricia Nelson Fite, 86, retired office manager for J. C. Penney's Company and resident of Craig Bridge Road in Williamsport, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with her grandson, Bro. Phil Mash officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 6, 1930 in Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Nelson, Sr. and Lola Mae Hoffman Nelson. On May 9, 1949, she married Billy Edward Fite, her lifelong love and partner, who preceded her in death November 5, 2006. She and her husband were very devoted to one another and accomplished many projects as a team. She was a 1948 graduate of Columbia Central High and attended Columbia Business College. Many years ago, she worked for Columbia Power and Water System. After retirement, she enjoyed helping and spending time with her family, painting, reading, embroidering and crocheting. As an active member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, Mrs. Fite made the church banners with the help from Mrs. Hazel Pigg. Survivors include her son, Edward Nelson (Nancy) Fite of Evans, Georgia; daughters, Kathleen Fite (Chris) Brock of Williamsport, and Janet Fite (Walter) Ward of Franklin; brother, Aubrey (Linda) Nelson, Jr. of Columbia; grandchildren, Jennifer (Maverick) Jaillet of Decatur, Alabama, Jolene Higdon of Plano, Texas, Ryan Edward (Sarah) Fite of Martinez, Georgia, Justin (Fiona) Mash of Williamsport, Phil (Brandie) Mash of Williamsport, Whitney (Ryan) Stover of Martin, TN, Amanda (John) Compton of Castalian Springs, TN, Zachary Ward of Franklin, TN, and Regan Ward of Franklin, TN; great grandchildren, Sarah Higdon, Abigail Jaillet, Kaleb Fite, Tyler Gilpin, Justis Mash, Huntleigh Mash, Kelby Mash, Mason Mash, Parker Mash, Aidan Cefali, Sean Compton, Adeline Compton, Kella Simmons, Aubree Simmons, and Sydney Stover; great great granddaughter, Emma Shea; and dear friend and caregiver, Keisha Lowery.She was preceded in death by her great grandson, William Jaillet. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Fite, Justin Mash, Justis Mash, Phil Mash, Zachary Ward, Maverick Jaillet, Ryan Stover, and John Compton. Honorary pallbearers include members of Mt.
