Mrs. Patricia Ann Mabry Hulen, 86, resident of Columbia and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away December 27, 2024 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Columbia, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Highland Church of Christ with David Morris and John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Patricia was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee, on November 5, 1938, to the late Little Patrick Mabry and the late Vera Oaks Mabry on a farm she loved. She graduated as valedictorian of her class from Summertown High School in 1956. Patricia married her high school sweetheart Glenn Darryl Hulen in 1959. Born on a neighboring farm, Glenn was the love and light of her life. Together, they built a life full of love, success, and great happiness that is still admired by many. They had three children, Darryl, Suzanne, and Kevin, whom they loved endlessly.

Patricia was known for her kindness, generosity, and her chocolate cake. She never let a room go silent, filling it with stories and laughter. She made a mean french toast, kept a beautiful garden, and was deeply committed to her faith. She was a devoted and highly active member of Highland Church of Christ.

She loved traveling, enjoying many adventures to Europe, Australia, the Holy Lands, as well as family trips to Gulf Shores and Walt Disney World. She was proud of and enjoyed her work at the Tennessee Welfare Department and her involvement with the Columbia Academy Associates. She loved her family above all else. They, among many others, will miss her greatly.

Survivors include her children, Darryl (Lisa) Hulen, Suzanne (Rush) Holladay, Kevin (Robin) Hulen; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Holladay (Charlie) Stoltz, Hunter Patrick Hulen, Patrick Holladay, Preston Glenn Holladay, Anslee Hulen, Seth Glenn Hulen, Ryan (Sarah) Baker, Holly Baker; great grandchildren, Ryleigh Jo Baker, Benton Baker; Niece, Connie Riddle; Nephew, Wade (Julie) Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn Darryl Hulen in 2000 and her sister Okerleen Thompson in 2024.

Active pallbearers are Patrick Holladay, Preston Glenn Holladay, Charlie Stoltz, Hunter Patrick Hulen, Ryan Baker, Seth Glenn Hulen, and Wade Thompson.

The family of Mrs. Hulen would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Morning Pointe Assisted Living of Columbia, TN.
