Mrs. Patricia Jean Mortimer Moore, 67, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, May 10, 2004, after a brave and courageous fight against cancer. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The body will be conveyed to Wilson's Funeral Home in Kahoka, Missouri, where services will be conducted at a later date. A native of Keokuk, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Percy Mortimer and Flossie Lloyd Mortimer O'Shea. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. An inspiration to many, Mrs. Moore went back to school at the age of 43, receiving her GED and nursing degree. She was a retired LPN at Maury Regional Hospital, where she met many friends who became special members of her family, including, Jenny Canups, Millie Lopp, Beverly Hopson, Beverly Workman, and Missy Leber. She is survived by the love of her life, husband, Robert Michael "Mike" Moore of Columbia; three daughters, Mrs. Cheryl (John) Rutledge of Knoxville; Mrs. Cindy Wehrle of Erlanger, Kentucky; Mrs. Connie (Charles) Nelsen of Kahoka, Missouri; four brothers, Jim Mortimer and Andrew O'Shea, both of Keokuk, Iowa; Michael O'Shea of Kahoka, Missouri; Joe O'Shea of Pulaski; three sisters, Mary Grimes of Montrose, Iowa; Sally Hauff and Dinah Meinhardt, both of Keokuk, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jason Rutledge, David Miller, Patricia Jean Miller, Gabriella Wehrle, Cody Nelsen, and Trista Nelsen; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the following people who made her fight against cancer easier, Holly O'Shea, Jenny Canups, Donene Payne, Dr. Jim Richardson, and Hospice of Highland Rim.
