Patricia L. White Taylor, 71, retired teacher and resident of Spainwood Street, died Saturday, September 16. 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at Knob Creek Cemetery with Reverend Tony Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 -6:00 P. M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Knob Creek Cemetery Fund, c/o Tim Fitzgerald, 1209 Hunters Point Lane, Spring Hill, TN 37174. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born October 20, 1945 in Maury County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Horace D. White and the late Hazel Shannon White. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University and her Master's degree from Trevecca. For many years, she taught 8th grade at Whitthorne Middle School. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the retired Teachers Association, Tennessee Order of the Eastern Star, Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, and of Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, whom she married November 20, 1965, Donald E. Taylor, Sr. of Columbia; daughter, Ginger Taylor (Stan) Dickens of Mt. Pleasant; son, Donald E. (Dee) Taylor, Jr. of Columbia; sisters, Linda (Don) Riddle of Hendersonville; Mary Webb of Unionville; granddaughter, Grace (Matt) Dunn of Columbia; great grandchildren, Liza Dunn of Columbia; Beau Dunn of Columbia; nieces, Vicky (Brian) Smith; Donna (Kenny) Hall; Tammy Anderson; Pam (James) Gary; nephews, Donnie Riddle, Jr.; Tim Webb; and Joe Tom ( Regina) Sowell; and sister-in-law, Wilma Sowell of Columbia.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Christie Pence; great nephew, Casey Pence; and brother-in-law, Joe Sowell. Active pallbearers will be Stan Dickens, James Gary, Joe S. Gary, Donnie Riddle, Jr., Brian Smith, Thomas Baker, and Harvey Isom. Honorary pallbearer will be Kenny Hall. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Ben Gardner, Dr. Houston Jameson, Dr. Jon Freels, and staff of Maury Regional Medical Center 1st floor stepdown and the Critical Care Unit.
