Paul Brown Mr. Paul Wayne Brown, 65, retired employee of Columbia Power & Water Systems and resident of 8th Avenue, died Friday, August 27, 2004 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Vann officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., 2000 Richard Jones Rd., Nashville, TN 37215. The Giles County native was the son of the late Gaius Van William Brown and Florence Tomerlin Brown. He was a 1959 graduate of Bodenham High School in Giles County. He served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid sportsman and coached baseball for ten years. Mr. Brown attended the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Jean Holley Brown of Columbia; two sons, Gregg (Renee) Brown and Todd (Diane) Brown both of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Billy (Geneva) Brown of Columbia, N.C. (Barbara) Brown and Arlin (Alice) Brown both of Pulaski; four sisters, Mary Pinkston of Lewisburg, Gertrude Palmer of Murfreesboro, Eva Jane (W.H.) Palmer of Nashville, Theresa (Cecil) Price of Pulaski; two grandsons, Breland Brown and Beau Brown; two granddaughters, Holly Brown and Magen Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chester Morris, Glen Nelson, Bill Jackson, Dr. Campbell Sowell, Carl Alsip and Buddy Dodson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Columbia Power & Water Systems.
