Paul Thomas Derryberry, 61, resident of Lookout Drive, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Mr. Derryberry began work as a mechanic for Goodyear Tire Company on North Garden Street and continued in that position in the same location with Moody Tire Company and American Tire Company. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Rick Elsey officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemtery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Wilson County native was the son of the late Robert Lentz Derryberry and Bertha Mae Black Derryberry. He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Fruit of the Vine. Survivors include his wife, Livia Daly Derryberry of Columbia; sons, Tommy (Lorah) Derryberry of Knoxville and Chad Derryberry of Columbia; sisters, Minnie Jo Derryberry of Phoenix, Arizona, Nancy Loftin and Katherine (Joe) Roberts of Columbia; brothers, James Robert Derryberry and Harold Noland Derryberry of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Mary Etta Derryberry of Lawrenceburg and Alma Derryberry of Mt. Juliet; an aunt, Ruby Carpenter Derryberry of Old Hickory; nieces, Margaret Derryberry (James) Secrest of Columbia, Valarie Loftin of Lavergne, several other nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Dean Derryberry; brothers, Elmer Lentz Derryberry and Joseph Herman Derryberry; and a nephew, Robert Loftin. Active pallbearers are Jim Moody, Randolph Lockridge, John McGrew, James Secrest, Dwayne Strickland, Joe Gilliam, and Joe Roberts. J. W. Derryberry and H. K. Derryberry will serve as honorary pallbearers.
