Paul Cecil Johnson, 69, retired construction worker, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at his residence on Westmoreland Lane in Culleoka. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 12:00 noon and Friday after 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Sam Johnson and Frances Clymer Johnson. He was a 1955 graduate of Culleoka High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Johnson started his career in construction with Sharondale Development Company and retired from L. S. White Construction. After his retirement, he worked with his best friends forming the Country Boys' Home Improvement. He was an avid fisherman and loved to garden. Active in civic and community affairs, Mr. Johnson was former Cub Master of Culleoka Cub Scout Pack 166 for over ten years. He volunteered with the summer recreation program in Culleoka and coached the Men's Softball League. He was a former member of Culleoka Lions Club and an active member of Culleoka FFA Alumni. He was a member of Glendale United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Janice Oliver Johnson of Culleoka; two sons, Keith (Marie) Johnson of Loudon; Darrell (Bonnie) Johnson of Culleoka; two brothers, W. C. (Geraldine) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; Ray (Sarah) Johnson of Columbia; three grandchildren, Alan Wayne Johnson, Levi Joseph Johnson, and Brandi Lynn Johnson, all of Culleoka; and two nephews, Cam (Becky) Johnson of Fort Mill, South Carolina; Don (Kerrie) Johnson of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one son, Allen Wayne Johnson; and a granddaughter, Judith Bahr. Pallbearers will be Cam Johnson, Don Johnson, Tommy Goetz, Paul Westmoreland, Mike Hickman, Billy Hickman, David Hobbs, and James C. Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, employees and coffee drinkers at S & K Market in Culleoka.
