William Paul Nance, 79, and resident of Williamsport, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the service time at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born May 11, 1945 in Columbia, TN, he was the son of the late Winford Lee Nance and the late Minnie Elizabeth Hill Nance. Paul married the love of his life, Brenda Grimes Nance, on June 27, 1986 and spent 38 wonderful years together. He was an employee for the City of Columbia Public Works Garage for 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, whittling, and being on his tractor. Paul liked going to the Smokey Mountains, and sitting on the swing on his hill watching the deer, he loved his family, going to church, and was a good Christian. Paul was a member of the Cross Bridges Baptist Church.

Paul is survived by his wife, Brenda Grimes Nance; children, Joshua P. Nance, Jeremy Marvin; grandchildren, Vivian Rehl Nance, Samara Lee Kilburn; sister in law, Melissa McGee; and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents.

Active pallbearers will be Joshua Nance, Cody McGee, Casey Hill, Ricky Sims, Joey Sims, and Randy Holden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brayden McGee, J.T. Duncan, Members of Cross Bridges Baptist Church, and the employees of the City of Columbia Public Works Garage.
