Mr. Paul Howard Peden, 71, retired truck driver and resident of Industrial Park Road in Pulaski, died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with James Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic Service conducted at 7:00 p.m. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late William Bryant Peden and Julie Hardwick Peden. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement Mr. Peden had been employed by M.C.West, General Trucking and Bowman Transportation as a truck driver. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge #138 in Culleoka and Al Menah Shriners of Nashville. He attended Robertson Fork Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Ethel Frances Brady Peden of Pulaski; one son, Anthony "Tony" (Cindy) Peden of Hermitage; two sisters, Mary Ann Harper of Donelson, Ruth (Owen) Bass of Columbia; two brothers, George Allen (Jane) Peden of Columbia, Carl Peden of Prescott Valley, Arizona; sister-in-law, Ruby Peden of Pulaski; one granddaughter, Martina (Steve) Tayes of Hermitage; one great-granddaughter, Kendra Jade Morgan of Hermitage; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, W.M. Peden and James B. Peden. Pallbearers will be Ricky Peden, Jeff Peden, Randy Peden, Tim Peden, Allen Tate and Steve Locke.
