Mr. Paul Richard "Dick" Poling, 77, resident of West Ninth Street, died Monday, September 22, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday at Oakes & Nichosl Funeral Home with Reverend J. David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Van Wert, Ohio native was the son of the late William Lewis Poling and Beatrice Reed Poling. He was married to Helen Hiller Poling who preceded him in death January 12, 1982. He was a graduate of Van Wert High School. He was a retired farmer, livestock broker and owner of Southern Livestock and Pulaski Stockyards. He was instrumental in starting the Mule Day Sale and Auction on the square. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include four sons, Frank (Holly) Poling, Mike (Teresa) Poling, Jim (Susan Walker) Poling all of Columbia and Bob (Debbie) Poling of Pulaski; one brother, Charles Poling of Dunkirk, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Germann and Linda Hoffman both of Van Wert, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Patrick Poling, Christian Poling, Katherine Poling, Amy (Jason) White, Paula (Wesley) King, Alison Poling, Linton Poling, Jay Poling, Reed Poling; and one great-grandson, Jackson White. Pallbearers will be Patrick Poling, Christian Poling, Jay Poling, Reed Poling, Jason White and Wesley King.
