View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Paul Howard Thrasher, retired employee of Columbia Power and Water System, widower of Peggy Ann Mobley Thrasher, and long-time resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Isaac Bourne officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Born April 17, 1936 in Pinellas County, Florida, he was the son of the late Joseph Howard Thrasher and the late Mammie Ruth Jones Thrasher. On July 10, 1964, he married Peggy Ann Mobley Thrasher who preceded him in death June 25, 2020. Mr. Thrasher served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1958. He began his career in 1961 with Columbia Power and Water System and retired in 1996. Mr. Thrasher loved being outside and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a long-time member of Riverside Church of Christ and more recently attended Chapel Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughter, Tracy (Harry) Dreyer of Spring Hill; son, Christopher (Carrie) Thrasher of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Dustin Dreyer, Madison Dreyer, Grace Thrasher, Reese Thrasher, Annie Thrasher; sister, Jan (Steve) Willets of Nashville; brother, Ricky Thrasher of Danville, Kentucky; Joe Coleman of Jupiter, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Reese Thrasher, Dustin Dreyer, Tony Truett, James Allen Bryant, Harry Dreyer, Bengi Gilliam, Chad Gilliam, and Chris White. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Bryant and Al Hurt.
