Pauline Loftin Shelby

Mrs. Pauline Loftin Shelby, 86, former resident of Hillview Drive, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with James E. "Jimmy" Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Alf Loftin and Nora Pipkin Loftin Scribner. She lived her entire life in Maury County. In 1937 she married Sam Dotson Shelby who preceded her in death in 1976. She was retired from Dixie Manufacturing where she had worked for 25 years and was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Sam Wayne (Joyce Shelton) Shelby and Ronnie D. Shelby both of Ethridge; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchidlren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Ruth Gates and two brothers, Paul Loftin and J.A. Loftin. Pallbearers will be Randy Speed, Jerry Semore, Bill Jones, Randy Jones, Jim Pollard and Billy Ray Hardison. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Dake, Dr. Mark Seago and members of Eastside Church of Christ.
