Pauline Lydia Korpela Taylor, 72, and resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center. 

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM at West 7th Street Church of Christ with Randy Owens officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday at 1:00 PM till time of services at the church. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Pauline was born on February 25, 1952 to the late Allen Mordy Korpela and the late Sophie Aho Korpela. She married Tom Taylor on May 6, 1972 and spent many wonderful years together. Mrs. Taylor was a member of W 7th St. Church of Christ and was a devout Christian. She was a volunteer at Maury Regional Medical center. Pauline enjoyed going to her sewing classes, working on her diamond paintings and crocheting. She loved spending time with all her family especially her grandchildren and her cat, Lily.

Survivors include her children, Doug (Angie) Taylor, Jason Michael Taylor, Melissa (Michael) Lee; grandchildren, Jacob Edward Taylor, Trent Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Payton Lee, Cameron Lee; and brother, Allen “Butch” (Sonja) Korpela.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, Tom, Pauline is preceded in death by her siblings, Susan Hollett, Gail Hammack, and Freemont Korpela.
