Miss Pearlene Clark, 70, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at her residence on Winding Way. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 3 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Velton Clarence Clark and Myrtle Pruitt Clark. She had been employed at Miss Andrews Day Care Center and helped rear her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She also sat with the sick and the elderly. Miss Clark was a former resident of West 13th St. She enjoyed watching television especially the Hallmark Channel which played her favorite shows, Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons and Golden Girls and she talked everyday to her sister, Rosie. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sisters, Velma McGaw of Mt. Nebo, Rosie Kennedy of Dickson, Dorothy (Marion) Wilhoite of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Bessie (David) Schmidt, Abbie (Walt) Grimes, Dora (Adam) Rankin, Shelia (Robert) Geery, Sandra House, Sara (Nelson) Mealer, Charles Kennedy, Herschel (Stacy) Brennan, Clarence Clark, William Clark; several great nieces and great nephews; and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Clarence Clark. Pallbearers will be Justin Kennedy, Charles Kennedy, John Kennedy, Robert Geery, Walt Grimes, Herschel Brennan, Bud Todd and Andy Wilhoite. Honorary pallbearers include William Clark, Josh Geery, David Schmidt, Clarence Clark, John Zwengel and R.L. King.
