View Funeral Webcast Peggy Atnip Junior Caskey, 84, resident of Columbia, died Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Kinnaman officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born July 1, 1935 in Huntsville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Richard Benjamin Atnip and the late Virginia Vasser Atnip. She worked for many years as a secretary at Lee Plant and was a great artist. She enjoyed woodworking, painting, drawing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband who she married January 30, 2014, Jake Caskey of Columbia, TN; daughter, Janice (Dr. John) Long of Port St. Louie, FL; son, Daniel Junior of Lewisburg, TN; step children, Mike (Jamie) Caskey, Todd (Carnice) Caskey, Dave Caskey; grandchildren, Brooke (Cory) Prewitt, Parker Caskey, Paige (Cameron) Baker, Adam Caskey, J.T. (Lyndsey) Caskey; six great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Elliot of Madison, AL, Nancy (Bobby) Balch of Decature, AL, Jack (Susie) Atnip of Columbia, TN, Larry (Eleanor) Atnip of Lexington, KY, Jeannie (Grant) Balch of Harvest, AL; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Richard Atnip and sister Sarah Owens. Active pallbearers will include Mike Caskey, Todd Caskey, Dave Caskey, Dale Bordon, Grant Balch, Keith Balch, and Jimmy Junior.
