Peggy Jean Murry Green

Peggy Jean Murry Green, 78, retired Judges Secretary for 38 years at Maury County General Sessions and resident of Columbia, died Monday, July 29, 2019 at her residence. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at Bethesda Cemetery in Selmer, Tennessee with Reverend Terry Perry officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Oakes & Nichols Funeral directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 4, 1940 in Hardeman County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Murry and the late Mammie Lou Lewis Murry. On December 24, 1981 she married James Paul Green. She was a member of West Point Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, James Paul Green of Columbia, TN; sons, Larry Kent (Donna) Younger of Spring Hill, TN and Van Kurt (Beverley Jean) Younger of Duck River, TN; grandchildren, Josh Younger, Nicole Sullivan, Laura Cothran; six great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Lewis and Diane Clay; daughter-in-law, Kristie Younger of Selmer, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Howard Keith Younger; brothers, Robert Murry and Ronnie Murry; sister, Betty Buchanan. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
