View Funeral WebcastPeter Michael Hudson, 61, former owner and operator of Sam Hills Restaurant and resident of Hiwassee Drive, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Tony Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.The Maury County native was the son of the late Hallie E. Hudson and Claire Weigel Hudson. The 1973 graduate of Columbia Central High School was class president and attended the University of Memphis and was member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Mr. Hudson was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his sisters, Penny (Arnold) Wilkie of Merritt Island, FL, Patsy (Bill) VanLandingham of Franklin, Janice Tracy of Nashville; daughter, Claire Hudson Jackson of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; and granddaughter, Hadley Elizabeth Burba of Santa Rosa Beach, FL.The family would to express a special thanks to Nancy Cartwright for all of her care and friendship to Peter. Active pallbearers will be Randy Speed, Jim Poling, Mark Bostelman, John Kieffner, and William van Landingham. Honorary pallbearers include former employees of Sam Hills Restaurant.
