View Funeral WebcastPolly Webb Rippey, 85, former employee of ABC Learning Center, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at her residence on Trotwood Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randell Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Sydney B. Webb and the late Octavine Oliver Webb. On December 29, 1956, she married Ed Kindel Rippey who preceded her in death October 24, 1984. In her early years, she found her greatest contentment as a "stay at home" mom taking care of her husband and daughter. At the age of 69, she began working with her daughter and granddaughter at ABC Learning Center loving all the babies. Mrs. Rippey was of the Church of Christ faith. Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie (Jim) Derryberry of Columbia; granddaughters, Julie Prentice and Janna (Chris) Stewart, both of Columbia; great grandchildren, Allison Griffin, Dylan Stewart, Chase Stewart, Logan Prentice; and brother. S. B. Webb of Clarksville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Dean Schultz. Active pallbearers will be Chris Stewart, Dylan Stewart, Chase Stewart, Logan Prentice, Brad Massey, Eric Davis, Kenny Webb, and Dunston Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will include the past and present parents and children of ABC Learning Center.
