Mr. Randy Searles Baker, 47, former resident of Columbia, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery with James Dickey officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday after 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Survivors include one brother, Mike (Fay) Sims of Columbia; mother, Barbara (Gilbert) Cathey of Mt. Pleasant; and one niece, Kelly Sims of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Searles Baker; paternal grandparents, James Baker and Pauline Purdom Baker; and maternal grandparents, John Eugene Sims and Lois Lee Sims. Pallbearers will be Mike Nance, Mike Bone, Bobby Love, Mike Cook, Mark Liggett, Jeff Liggett, Scott Liggett, Mike Bryan, Dwight Holt, Jeff Roland, Ron Truelove, and Eck Gruber. Honorary pallbearers will be Jana Liggett Love and Mack & Betty Liggett
