Ray Fisher Davis

Ray Fisher Davis, 86, retired Director of the South Central Health Agency, and resident of Columbia, died Thursday, July 25, 2024 at his residence. 

Visitation will be conducted Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. 

Born March 1, 1938 in Swifton, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Gibson Davis, and the late Virgle Williams Davis. On October 26, 1968 he married Dr. Patricia Clifford Davis. He was an avid fisherman and had fished from Canada down to the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Davis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Christy Rae Davis of Columbia; granddaughter, Mia Grace Reasoner of Columbia; sister, Mary (Sanford) Taylor of Gulf Shores; brother, Bill Davis of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
