RAY D. FOSTER Ray Dortch Foster, 87, retired farmer and resident of Greenfield Bend, died Thursday, November 6, 2003, at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Homer D. Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Connie Foster and Ramona Dortch Foster. For over forty years, he was married to Christine Reed Foster who preceded him in death on September 19, 1982. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Hoover of Duck River; one son, Howard Foster of Hampshire; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine (Ross) Bates of Nashville; Mrs. Betty (Abe) Rudnick of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mrs. Evelyn Smith of Columbia; four brothers, Bliss Foster of Atlanta, Georgia; Edward Foster of Dallas, Texas; Earl Foster and John Foster, both of Nashville; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Hazel Potts in 2003 and two brothers, Glenn Foster in 1992 and L. W. "Buster" Foster in 1977. Pallbearers will be Robert Bell, James Pennington, Billy Potts, Marshall Potts, Mark Foster, and Jim Pennington. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. William Robinson, staff of Life Care Center, Dr. Patterson, Lewis County Nursing Home and staff, and NHC Healthcare Staff in Lewisburg.
