RAYMOND C. WILLIAMS, SR. Mr. Raymond C. Williams, Sr., 85, retired employee of Union Carbide and longtime resident of West Eleventh Street, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at NHC of Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Duvall officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Benton Williams and Florence Hargrove Williams. He was married to Alma Ruth Cole Williams who preceded him in death on February 5, 2002. Mr. Williams was a member of Central Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder. He served in the U. S. Armed Forces during World War II. He was a member of Union of Operating Engineers Local 912. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn (Billy) Hickman of Culleoka; one son, Ray (Patsy) Williams, Jr. of Columbia; two grandchildren, Brian (Star) Williams and Joanna Kincade; and four great grandchildren, Nathan Williams, Abby Williams, Joshua Kincade, and Kelly McCandless. Pallbearers will be nephews, Wayne Kincade, and Johnny Sealy. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Central Presbyterian Church and retired employees of Union Carbide.
