Mrs. Reba Henry Welch, 87, widow of Herb A. Welch and resident of Hewitt House in Pulaski, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at NHC Pulaski. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Lynnville United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Van Hooser officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to service time at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Ernest Brown Henry and Ruth Coker Henry and a 1939 graduate of Jones High School in Lynnville. She made her home in Dyersburg from 1953 until returning to Giles County in 2002. While living in Dyersburg, she worked as a nurse's aide at Dyersburg Nursing Facility and was a member of Bryant Chapel in Millsville. Survivors include a sister, Frances Henry Hewitt of Lynnville; step-daughter, Betty Welch Anderson of Washington state; step-sons, Bobby Gene (Janelle) Welch of Silver Point and Doyle (Jennie) Welch of Washington state; brother-in-law, Lester (Lucille) Welch of Pensacola, Florida; nephew, Richard Hewitt of Lynnville; niece, Nelle Hewitt Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia; four great-nephews, Coby Hewitt, Aaron Hewitt, Seth Anderson, and Sam Anderson; one great-niece, Amanda Hewitt; seven step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Thomas Henry and a brother, Nat Brown Henry. Pallbearers are Richard Hewitt, Coby Hewitt, Mark Welch, Daniel Welch, Malcom Gene, and Pat Owen.
