Rebecca, known as Teck by her family and child-hood friends, was born in Nashville, TN on February 8, 1929. The daughter of the late Charles Henry and Sadie Beasley Gregory. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 58 years, Willis Burton Daimwood; sisters, Baker Gregory Cayce, Betty Gregory Turner, Sadie Gregory Billingsley, and Will Neil Gregory Watts; brothers, Charles Clinton Gregory, James Taylor Gregory, Isham Duke Gregory and Ellis Beasley Gregory. Rebecca was educated from grammar school through college at David Lipscomb receiving her certification as an elementary education teacher. She and Burton married in 1951 and lived most of their married life in Columbia where he was a teacher, farmer, and gospel preacher until his death in 2009. Early in her married life she had a major health scare which made her a true survivor throughout life. She was a member of the Ephesus Church of Christ. Over the years she had been a member of the Jaycettes, Civinettes, Home Demonstration Club, and the Thursday Literary Club.

Rebecca (Teck) was very artistic, a skilled seamstress (known in later years for her flags and banners), landscaper, and a wonderful cook. She always loved to decorate for each holiday. But where she truly exceled was as Mother. Her dedication, constant care, worry, and love for her immediate and extended family will never be forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Burton Stewart, Josh Watson, Baker Watson, Caleb Watson, Gregory Watts, Billy Brimm, Roscoe Voss, and Ken Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Lucien Simpson, Shannon Tilley, Steve Blackman, Duke Gregory, Ken Gregory, and the men of Ephesus Church of Christ.

The family would like to express its gratitude to the care given by Bethany Albright, April Stockard, and Tim Brashears through Gentiva. The family would also like to express its gratitude for the love, care, and friendship of Melanie McCullough.

In lieu of flower, the family request donations be made to Ephesus Church of Christ for the Burton Daimwood scholarship at Heritage University, or the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
