View Funeral WebcastRebecca Jane Cole Young, 75, retired employee of Littles Food Town, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at her residence on Sharon Circle. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ralph Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Born December 8, 1941 in Williamson County, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey Lee Cole and Margaret Jane King Cole. An avid animal lover, she enjoyed her cats and watching birds. Mrs. Young was a member of Jehovah Witness of Columbia.Survivors include her husband, whom she married April 23, 1983, John Gilbert Young of Columbia; children, Diane (Lee) Wray of Chapel Hill; Dwayne Boyd of Nashville; Lisa (Monty) Meacham of Chapel Hill; Natalie (Josh) Pewitt of Columbia; Bobby (Allison) Boyd of Gulfport, Mississippi; step son, Joe Young of Nashville; sister, Nancy Lester of Columbia; brother, Bud (Lucretia) Cole of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Hensley; P.J. (C.C.) Andrews; Chris Boyd; Julie (Nate) Cross; Jesse Boyd; Amber Barnhill; William Barnhill; Madie Pewitt; Katie Pewitt; Evan Boyd; Brinlee Boyd; Anderson Boyd; Rebekah Boyd; great grandchildren, Jacob Andrews; Joshua Andrews; Jackson Andrews; Ethan Stoltz; Drew Stoltz; and Emma Hensley; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Young of Nashville; and son-in-law, Myron Scarlett of Nashville.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step daughter, Joan Scarlett; and step son, John Gilbert Young, Jr. Active pallbearers will be Josh Pewitt, Monty Meacham, William Barnhill, P.J.
