Reed JacksonMr. Reed Jackson, 83, resident of Kings Lane in Tullahoma, died Thursday, January 8, 2004 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ted Burleson officiating. Burial will be in Luther Cemetery in Dickson County with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Monday after 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mr. Jackson was a native of Harlan, Kentucky. He was married to Cora Lee Luther Jackson who preceded him in death September 22, 2002. He served in the United States Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star for his service during the first invasion of the Phillipines. He was a coal miner and later worked for Chrysler. Survivors include his step-daughter, Peggy (Bob) Cook of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Christine (Matthew) Campbell and Jeffrey Cook of Tullahoma; and several nephews. Pallbearers will be members of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.
