Rex Wayne Yeager, 65, retired employee of General Motors, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his residence on Bandywood Court. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in the Pegram Community with military honors. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Whiting, Iowa, he was the son of the late Fred A. "Ted" Yeager and the late Florence Schachtschabel Yeager. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He also loved his dog Harley and cat Precious. Mr. Yeager was an avid football and hockey fan. He attended Cornerstone Cowboy Church. Survivors include his fiancée, Linda Russell of Columbia; daughters, Misty (Brent) Sapp and Tricia Yeager; grandchildren, Chris Owens, Abby Clifford, Trent Sapp, Tristian Sapp, Breanna Sapp, Dakota Sapp, Jousha Sapp, Areonna Russell, Jacob Russell; great grandchild, Emma Kay Clifford; brothers, Frederick Yeager and Roy (Maggie) Yeager; sisters, Shirley Ochsenbein and Charlotte Scott; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Elmer Ochsenbein and Tom Scott. Pallbearers will be Larry Pigg, Michael Russell, Doug Reese, Larry Deatley, Jackie Hagan, and Andy Jackson.
